The Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races are a weekly occurrence, but this week's offerings have left some players feeling underwhelmed. The game's developers, Polyphony Digital, have been recycling race combinations, which has not gone unnoticed by the community.
Race A, for instance, features the Honda NSX Type R '92 on Grand Valley - Highway 1, a track that was last used in March. The same car and track combination was also part of a race in January. This repetition is not a new phenomenon, as Polyphony Digital has been recycling race setups periodically since the mode's inception. However, the lack of tactical depth in these races is a disappointment.
In Race A, players are tasked with navigating the 6-lap course on Sports Medium tires with a Grid Start. The absence of pit stops and the default fuel and tire wear multipliers mean that the focus is solely on clean, consistent laps. This simplicity takes away from the strategic element of the game, which is a shame.
Race B and Race C follow a similar pattern, with the same car and track combinations used in previous races. The Gr.3 and Gr.4 fields are sent to Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit and Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, respectively, with the same settings and start types as their previous appearances.
The Daily Races are a ranked multiplayer event in Gran Turismo 7, and players' performances determine their DR and SR, which are used to rank them for the game's esports series. To access these races, players must unlock Sport Mode by completing Menu Book 9 in the GT Cafe single-player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required.
While the Daily Races are a regular feature, the repetition of race combinations and the lack of tactical depth have left some players feeling disappointed. The game's popularity and longevity depend on its ability to offer fresh and exciting content, so it will be interesting to see how they address this issue moving forward.
